Ain't too proud to beg...Read & share this post to be part of the crew that pushes me over 10K pageviews!

So yeah, I blog to amuse myself and vent, but I'm vain too.  I check those Blogger stats every day like the next egomaniac, and I'm at 9,948 pageviews as of today.  That works out to about 44 views per day over the 226 days since this blog was born.

Won't it be fun to be part of the group that pushes it over 10,000?  Just read this post, share it on your own FB wall or Retweet it or whatever, and you'll go to sleep knowing you've fed my vanity - which is what this is really about - as well as helped refuel the world's randomness.

And to show how low I am going today, I tender for your consideration the fabulous Temptations, first from 1966, with a tune appropriate for today's post, "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," and then a 70's appearance on Soul Train, singing "Papa Was A Rolling Stone."  Huge-tastic Afros aplenty, some so large they actually block the view of the performers.

But seriously, thank you for reading & sharing.  Thank you for commenting.  Thank you for being alive.

So how's this work? Where's the counter? Can I watch the progress if just click on different things in the "tagcloud"? or do I have to close down and log in again? I'm confused. Not to mention still a bit miffed my thoughtful, impassioned, dare I say insightful comment on one of your more serious entries got disappeared because I took too many breaks while writing it. If that sort of thing didn't happen, you'd probably have 20,000 pageviews already! Anyway, congrats on the 10k mark, I think I'm personally only responsible for 2 or 3 of your 44 a day.

oh no, Mike! Sorry to lose a single one of your insightfulthoughtfulimpassioned comments. Many thanks for your kind words and your faithful readership. Much appreciated :D PS I don't think you can see a counter on your side but I can try to install one. Sure, click all over the tagcloud. How the hell do I know what happens on YOUR side? I'm on this side, silly.

Sadly probably at least 100 of those are from me (along with quite a few of the comments :) )

Congratulations! Someday you might actually make a living at this!

Pete, that's not sad; that makes my day! I love it that you comment. Thank you for the kind words. You need to adopt a pseudonym and become a mad prophet of the airwaves yourself.

HA! I know the perfect pseudonym: Captain Subtext

An obscure reference to a single episode of a British Sitcom.
