Film: Sing-Along Sound Of Music - Most Fun Ever.

Is "funnest" a word?  It is now.  The best amusement value around recently is the family-friendly, slightly rowdy, sing-along version of The Sound of Music, complete with a Fun Pack of props to be used, waved, and set off during the film, in a gorgeous old Chicago movie palace with twinkling lightbulb stars on the ceiling (The Music Box Theatre).  The pre-film show includes a vocal warm-up and a hilarious parade of costumed filmgoers dressed as their favorite characters from the film.  Management encourages the audience to shout out random (clean) comments at any time.

It's a bit like being inside a Svengoolie or Mystery Science Theater 3000 movie, in the best possible way.  Or perhaps like Rocky Horror except I've never seen it.

Tickets are sold out for this year, but be sure to mark your calendars for next Thanksgiving weekend.  Bring the whole family - even those who profess to hate musicals - and prepare to laugh your face off, sing and have a ton of good clean fun.  Thanks again to my buddy J. for arranging the whole deal :)
