Hey, Mayor Emanuel - Chicago Needs Traffic Mimes Too!

Not sure how I missed this, but apparently mimes (Yes.  I know.) have been trained and are currently serving on the streets of Caracas, Venezuela, to silently interact with drivers and pedestrians in order to encourage safer driving.  The Huffington Post reports that last week, 120 mimes have been deployed in Sucre, on the eastern edge of Caracas, to help unsnarl traffic, a task apparently beyond the capabilities of local traffic officers.

I'm nearly delirious with joy at how great this is.  The Post article had the keywords "mimes" AND "world news."  When will you ever see that again?  Don't you think we need traffic mimes in Chicago?  After all, Rahm majored in dance; he must have a deep understanding of the demanding physical vocabulary required of the job.  What do you say, Rahm - mime cops?  If you decide to go for the idea, here's a handy Wiki primer on mime training.  Or perhaps you'd just like to start small and learn how to mime a believable wall - here you go.  Knock yourself out.
