Music: Pamplamoose Covers Lady Gaga's Telephone...and it's Good.
You know how a really excellent grapefruit is incredibly refreshing? So is Pamplamoose, (from the french "pamplemousse," grapefruit), a California-based duo (Jack Conte & Nataly Dawn) who have been putting singles on the Internet for a while. They took Lady Gaga's "Telephone" and transformed it into an almost-impossible-not-to-like song: funky, fresh, and wonderfully sung. After a number of hits on YouTube, they are now playing live concerts, much to the delight of their fans, I'm certain. Their original compositions, I'm told, are great too: heard "River Shiver" this morning and really enjoyed it.
If they were any fresher, you'd have to slap them.
One of the many side benefits of having young people in the house is the opportunity to hear new music, for which I am very grateful. Gets me out of my Kraftwerk rut.
